The entire purpose behind the design of this taper was to eliminate unnecessary parts and streamline the repair and maintenance. This is the second-generation design of the original "Bazooka". Bob and Stan Ames decided to create this design to eliminate the many problematic repair issues of their first design (the design that is still being used in rental today.) This design was built to be sold, not rented. Which of course meant that the quality needed to be better in order to hold up in the field without requiring the same frequent mechanical problems that the sub-grade rental tools experience.

Our experience shows that this Taper design sees the work bench approximately 5 to 10 times less than it's competitors. So, if you are looking to increase your taping production and decrease your trips to the repair shop, this taper design is a great solution.
