The "Shorty", as we call it, is approximately 11.75 inches shorter in length that it's big brother, the Blue Line USA Quick Disconnect Head Taper (BLU-AT). At just 42.25" long, it's a great taper for getting into tight spaces: closets, pantries, utility rooms, etc.

This taper is also lighter, and has less mud capacity, making it easier to manuever and manage. You will take a few more trips to the pump, but your body will take less wear and your stamina and physical performance will increase.

Users that are 5' 10" to 6' plus tall in height, should be able to tape 8' ceilings without leaving the floor with the "Shorty".

This Taper features superior durability and is engineered to run more hours with less maintenance. Less parts, mean less wear parts. The entire purpose behind the design of this taper was to eliminate unnessary parts and streamline the repair and maintenance. This is the second-generation design of the original "Bazooka". Bob and Stan Ames decided to create this design to eliminate the many problematic repair issues of their first design (the design that is still being used in rental today.) This design was built to be sold, not rented. Which of course meant that the quality needed to be better in order to hold up in the field without requiring the same frequent mechanical problems that the sub-grade rental tools experience.

Our experience shows that this Taper design sees the work bench approximately 5 to 10 times less than it's competitors. So, if you are looking to increase your taping production and decrease your trips to the repair shop, this taper design is a great solution.
