FibaFuse® is a revolutionary line of paperless drywall joint tapes and wall reinforcement fabrics. Designed for professional renovators and remodelers, FibaFuse is an ideal alternative to paper tape.

The fibers in FibaFuse products are dispersed randomly, providing strength in all directions. The open fiber design results in a porous product, which allows the tape or fabric to fuse with the joint compound, creating a much stronger bond and smoother finish.

In fact, tests have shown that surfaces and joints prepared with FibaFuse paperless products are 70% stronger than paper tape or fiberglass mesh reinforcement. FibaFuse products are also mold-resistant, offering a superior option for demanding applications.

From the Manufacturer:

I have used FibaFuse joint tape for a few years and have come to love it for making easy joints and invisible repairs in drywall. It is the best joint tape I've ever used. There is a slight learning curve for using it on inside corners due to the tendency of the tape to tear with a sharp blade edge against it but a corner trowel helps to ameliorate that problem. I will continue to use it for all of my joint taping needs from here on. Love it!

I liked fibafuse on the flats. No air bubbles and the mud really gets a good grab on this stuff. Inside corners are another story. The tape is not strong enough to hold up to the edge of your knife. It will cut right through it!! Overall a good product though, just use something else on inside corners.

Overall not a bad tape however two things that I didn't like: First, don't bother using on inside corners. I tried a 3" finisher and all I did was snag and tear the product out of the corner. Switching to a knife I managed to slice right through the product.
I did like the idea of no air bubbles. Because this is woven material it allows the compound to flow through which I suppose would create a much stronger seam. I did have issue with fuzz up upon sanding..particularly the butt joints.
    Just my 2 cents.

I saw this product in my wall tools catalog that came with one of my recent orders. I was interested so I ordered 2, 500' roles for a job I was doing. I was very impressed! No more bubbles, no more blisters! I ran mine through my wallboard banjo and had no problems. Actually, there was one problem... the 500' roll doesn't fit in the banjo! Aside from that small inconvenience the fibafuse resulted in a noticeably stronger joint that was easier to finish. The tape coat is flatter and requires less material to produce a finished product. I was able to apply one less coat for smooth wall. I wouldn't recommend it for inside corners however. But for inside corners why wouldn't you use ultra flex no-coat, see my review for that. As far as I'm concerned, paper tape is a thing of the past...fiba-fuse should become the new standard...
